Gyalwang Karmapa returns to GyutoSeptember 24, 2009 - DharamsalaHis Holiness Karmapa has returned to Gyuto, after successfully completing the Delhi leg of his tour. His Holiness has reached Dharamsala via road from Delhi and will resume his daily activities in Gyuto. Gyalwang Karmapa Teaches on Peace at the American Embassy SchoolSeptember 18, 2009 - Delhi, IndiaToday His Holiness paid a day-long visit to the students, faculty, and administrators of the American Embassy School in Delhi, India as part of the school’s “Peace Day” celebrations. In the main assembly hall, His Holiness gave a talk and a guided meditation on bringing peace to the world and witnessed several song and performance offerings by the students. His Holiness also conducted multiple question and answer sessions with students of all of the school’s grade levels and gave a stirring talk on the conditions for internal peace to an audience of high school-level students and adults in the school’s auditorium.

Gyalwang Karmapa Visits Gurumaa AshramSeptember 17, 2009 - Sonepat, India (Haryana State)Today His Holiness Karmapa visited Gurumaa Ashram, the spiritual practice center guided by Anandmurti Gurumaa, one of the most prominent living Indian spiritual teachers. His Holiness was greeted with an elaborate welcoming ceremony on the beautiful, sprawling land of the ashram. Both Gurumaa and His Holiness made remarks about the essence of spiritual practice before a large assembly of Gurumaa’s followers.

Gyalwang Karmapa presides over the 13th Annual Karmae Gunchoe meetingAugust 5-6, 2009 - DharamsalaHis Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa presided over the 13th annual Karmae Gunchoe meeting, which was held in Gyuto, Dharamsala. Two representatives of each of the following affiliated Karma Kagyu Shedras attended the meeting: 1.Rumtek Karma Shri Nalanda 2.Palpung Lungrig Jampa Ling 3.Lawa Kagyu Thegchenling 4.Bokar Thoesam Norling Gatsel 5.Kham Ghar Druk Tholob Dharma Kara 6.Nalanda International University
The aim of the meeting was to promote Karmae Gunchoe, as a platform to the participating students of different Shedras, as a place where they can exchange their views and broaden their knowledge; furthermore, to give the participating students an opportunity to have discussions with scholars and mutually pray for the long lives of all the masters of different religions and faiths. It was decided at the meeting that the upcoming 13th Karmae Gunchoe will take place at Tergar Monastery, Bodhgaya, India, from November 24th to December 19th, 2009. Lawa Kagyu Thegchenling and Bokar Thoesam Norling Gatsel will be the organizers of the 13th Karmae Gunchoe. The topics of Tsema Namdrol composed by The 7th Karmapa, Choedak Gyatso; and Riglam Selche composed by Namgyal Dakpa, the teacher of 9th Karmapa Wangchuk Dorje; will be debated and the discussions will be on the Dhamchoe Dul-wa (Binaya pitak). His Holiness Karmapa will give teachings to the Karmae Gunchoe students on Dhom-Sum Ne-Kyi Sein-Dri, composed by The 7th Karmapa, Choedak Gyatso, from December 4th to 10th, 2009. The teachings will be translated into English and Chinese.
Gyalwang Karmapa presides over the 13th Annual Karmae Gunchoe meeting. Gyalwang Karmapa gives White Tara empowerment at Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School SUJAJuly 17 to 19, 2009 - TCV, SujaHis Holiness Karmapa gave a White Tara Long life empowerment this morning (July 18th) at the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School in Suja. Large assemblies of students, from TCV Suja, Gopalpur, Chauntara; people from the nearby Tibetan settlements of Bir and Chauntara; and monastic people, attended the long life empowerment. The TCV School in Suja had requested the empowerment. His Holiness arrived at the school around 3:30pm yesterday (July 17). All the students and staff of the school offered a warm welcome for His Holiness' three day visit. TCV Suja School is a branch of TCV Dharamsala. Suja School is located near to the Tibetan Settlement of Bir, which is 62 Kilometers from Gyuto. The school was established for new arrivals from Tibet. There are approximately 1800 students currently studying at TCV Suja; their levels of education ranging from pre-school up to the 10th grade. Most of the students have only been in India for three years, since the time they left Tibet. In conclusion to the empowerment, His Holiness gave a short talk to the students, and to the public, about education and the future of Tibet. On July 19th, His Holiness visited each classroom during the morning session and, in some classes, stayed to observe some lessons for 1-2 minutes. His Holiness also visited all the foster homes and consecrated the new foster homes in the afternoon. During his visit at one of the homes, His Holiness even had a taste of the lunch that was being served to the students. His Holiness has concluded his visit and has arrived back in Gyuto.
Gyalwang Karmapa gives White Tara Empowerment Commemorating the 74th birth anniversary of His Holiness Dalai LamaJuly 6th, 2009 - DharamshalaIn commemoration of His Holiness Dalai Lama's 74th birthday, thousands of Tibetans and people from across the world participated in the great festivities. Colourful Tibetan and Indian cultural performances added grandeur to the celebratory function. His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa presided over the anniversary event; which was also attended by several dignitaries, including the visiting Australian Parliamentary Delegation and heads of the Three Pillars of Tibetan Government In Exile. The Australian delegations, comprised of three senators and three members of the Australian House of Representatives, along with their friends and family, met His Holiness Karmapa on July 4th.
Commemorating the 74th birth anniversary of His Holiness Dalai Lama Former Union Minister and Mr George Fernandes meet His Holiness Gyalwang KarmapaJuly 2, 2009 - Dharamshala / Gyuto:Former Union Minister and one of the most prominent supporters of the Tibetan cause, Mr. George Fernandes, met His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa at his Gyuto residence. Mr. Fernandes was accompanied by Ajay Singh, the former deputy union minister, along with his wife. Early on June 23rd, a group of visiting Nepali Parliamentary Members met His Holiness in Gyuto. The party was comprised of six MPs, including two women and Siddharth Gautam, President of the Lumbini Foundation for Development & Peace. According to Gautam, the Nepali Members of Parliament (MPs) are currently visiting Dharamsala to develop, in the long run, “a deeper understanding of the Tibetan issue and situation", and to "pave ways to bridge closer relations between the two communities”. Gautam said his foundation had also been working to realize a “visit by His Holiness Karmapa” to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha in Nepal. Tseten Norbu, a member of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, based in Nepal, was the one who coordinated the MPs' visit to Dharamsala.
