22nd Birthday Celebration for His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa (June 26, 2007)
On June 26, 2007, His Holiness the Seventeenth Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje's 22nd birthday celebration program commenced at 8 am in the morning at Gyuto Ramoche Temple, the Karmapa's temporary camp in Dharamsala. |

HH Dalai Lama's Teachings to Tibetan Youth (June 1-3)
His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa attended the special lecture on the essence of Buddhism, given to Tibetan youth by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. His Holiness explained the key aspects of Tibetan Buddhism to Tibetan high school and college students, with great emphasis on the benefits of studying Buddhism. |

His Holiness Karmapa at Dalai Lama's Guyhasamaja teachings and Mind and Life Conference (April - May, 2007)
Their Holinesses Gyalwang Karmapa and Sakya Trizin attended His Holiness’ Dalai Lama's teaching and commentary on Guhyasamaja at the Tsuglagkhang in May, and in April, the Karmapa attended the conference of Mind and Life, Dialogue on The Universe in a Single Atom, held at His Holiness Dalai Lama's residence. |

His Holiness Karmapa at Dalai Lama's Long Life Celebration with Lineage Heads and other activities (March, 2007)
On March 14, 2007, His Holiness Sakya Trizen Rinpoche headed a long life offering to His Holiness Dalai Lama at Thegchen Chöeling Monastery at McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala. All the heads of lineage Kagyu, Nyigma, Sakya, Gelug and Bhön unanimously requested His Holiness Dalai Lama's long life, along with all the Tibetan officials ex and present. |

His Holiness Karmapa at Tilopa's Cave and other activities (February, 2007)
Prior to the Tibetan New Year commenced on February 18, 2007, His Holiness presided over the Mahakala Puja on 29th day of the last month of the previous year (Guthor). The next day His Holiness arrived at the new Trilokpur Nunnery Drubten Pemo Jalpay Gatsal in the morning. His Holiness made a short pilgrimage to Tilopa's cave the next morning. |

His Holiness commenced the 24th annual Kagyu Monlam commenced on the 27th of December. Over 4,500 ordained monks and nuns had registered by the commencement, as well as 2,000 foreign pilgrims and at least another 2,000 Himalayan pilgrims.
The Monlam began at 5:30 A.M. with an amazing procession of 500 monks (Gelongs), each carrying crystal lotus mandalas and meditating as they walked slowly around the outer courtyard of the Maha Bodhi temple and took their seats. |

His Holiness continued his Fall-Winter tour by going to Vajra Vidhya Institute in Sarnath, near Varanasi, Uttar Predesh, where he presided over the Karma Gön Chö, the Winter Retreat for Debate and Logical Study. On December 17, 2006, His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived at Sarnath airport Sunday noon to give religious teachings beginning 19th December at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS) in Sarnath. His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa received him at the airport and accompanied by His Holiness Karmapa, arrived at Vajra Vidya Institute, where Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche offered a mandala to His Holiness Dalai Lama. After finishing their prayers, His Holiness had lunch at Vajra Vidya Institute with His Holiness Karmapa ,Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche and Tenga Rinpoche. |

His Holiness commenced his Fall-Winter tour, arriving on November 2, 2006 at Bokar Ngedon Chokhorling Monastery in West Bengal, where he presided over the third parinirvana anniversary ceremonies of the Very Venerable Bokar Rinpoche. On Nov. 16-17, he traveled to Salagura, where he visited Kalu Rinpoche’s Chorten at Salugara, and met his thousands of his students in the region, including a rousing welcome in Salagura along with the traditional Serbang reception and auspicious Lion Dance, followed by a long-life blessing ceremony conferred on an assembly of thousands of eager disciples. His Holiness traveled to Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, India, for the next leg of his tour. |

His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa turned 21 years old on June 26, 2006. Disciples from the world over celebrated the birthday with His Holiness at his temporary residence near Dharamsala, India, which was also attended by various dignitaries. Parallel celebrations took place at the Karmapa's monasteries and centers throughout the world. |

During the three days from May 22-24, 2006, the Gyalwa Karmapa attended the Third Academic Conference on The Revival of Tibetan Bhikshuni Ordination" in Dharamsala, India.

The Saraswati Trust, established in 2003 to carry out the educational, religious and other beneficial projects of His Holiness, consecrated the building site for the Buddhist Retreat and Meditation Centre at Martam, East Sikkim.

After closing the 2550th Buddha Jayanti Celebration in Bodhgaya, His Holiness returned to Varanasi on the 20th of February, arriving at Vajra Vidhya Insitute in the afternoon.

His Holiness arrived in Bodh Gaya from Varanasi on 17th February, to attend the 2550th Buddha Jayanti Celebration, at the invitation of the Maha Bodhi Society of India.

The Dakmema practice was performed this year for the first time since that commitment was made by Vajra Vidhya Monastery in 2002, as part of a general decision by Kamtsang Monasteries to focus on the Thirteen Tantras of the Great Marpa Lotsawa. His Holiness joined the monks during the morning session of the last day of the practice. |

On Wednesday, February 8, 2006, His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa attended a conference entitled “The Convergence of the Views of the Four Great Lineages of Tibetan Buddhism” at the request of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. |

Upon returning to Vajra Vidhya Institute, the Ven. Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche's monastery in Sarnath (Varanasi), His Holiness presided over a meeting of all the Khenpos from different shedras who participate in the Kagyu Annual Winter Program of Philosophy and Debate (Karma Gön Chö) at Varja Vidhaya Insititute in Varanasi. |

On the last day of the Kagyu Monlam Chenmo, His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa graciously offered a special set of fifteen-inch polished copper and gold statues of Marpa, Milarepa and Gampopa as a special gift to all the Kagyu Monasteries present at the Monlam.

On January 7th, His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa opened the annual ceremony, called in Tibetan the Pal Nyammay Kagyupay Sangha Monlam Chenmo and gave the monks and nuns (gelongs and gelongmas) their monastic vows for the Monlam, called "Theck-chen Sojong." |

On New Year's Day 2006, His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa conducted a refuge ceremony, giving refuge vows to the all the disciples gathered at Vajra Vidhya in Sarnath for the teaching. His Holiness also offered a very special New Year's present to the gathering of sangha and lay devotees: a new composition of a Supplication and Offering to the Guru.

From October 9-20, 2005, HH Karmapa was at Bokar Ngedhon Choekhor Ling Monastery in Mirik to preside over a Grand Prayer Gathering in the main prayer hall of the new temple in the presence of the Kudung of Ven. Bokar Rinpoche. |

In March, 2005, His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa toured South India as part of a month long visit to Tibetan Settlements in the area. |

His Holiness Karmapa has returned from an extended trip which took place through the end of 2004. The Gyalwang Karmapa arrived at Vajra Vidhya Institute in Varanasi on November 14, where he presided over the Karma Gön Chö, at which representatives of Kagyu monsteries from all over the world debated Kagyu philosophy and soteriology. In December, His Holiness proceeded to Bodhgaya for the annual Great Monlam Aspiration of the Glorious Unequaled Kagyu Sangha (Pal Nyammay Kagyupay Sangha Monlam Chenmo). |
