The
confirmation followed by the enthronement
of the XVIth Gyalwa Karmapa on the golden
seat of all the previous Karmapas, at
celestial Tshurphu Monastery, was accomplished
according to the letter of prediction
left by His Holiness the XVIth Karmapa,
before his parinirvana and according to
the sacred vision of His Holiness the
XIVth Dalai Lama. But Mr Topga Yulgyal
has refused to accept this decision based
on the pure wisdom of Their Holinesses.
Most
importantly, he has been repeatedly establishing
His Eminence Shamar Rinpoche as the owner
of the Dharmachakra Centre of Rumtek.
There has been attempts made to take over
the properties of His Holiness the XVIth
Gyalwa Karmapa. He has sold for a price
the Tashi Choeling Monastery of His Holiness,
situated in Boomthang, eastern Bhutan.
Instead
of taking proper responsibility at the
headquarters of the Karmapa's institutions,
he has been creating disruptions between
dharma teachers and their disciples, as
well as causing disharmony within the
various meditation centres.
Especially,
he has led armed soldiers into this seat
of the Karmapa, Dharmachakra Centre. The
committing of such actions against the
dharma is intolerable and unbearable to
us. During the forty-nine days prayers,
when the devotees at large came to pay
their respects to the remains of His Eminence
Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, he caused disruptions,
treating the sad occassion as inconsequential.
On the 21st of November, 1992, the doors
of the shrine room wree put under locks,
thus making it impossible for the daily
prayer ceremonies to be conducted therein.
Similarly, the rooms of His Holiness the
XVIth Gyalwa Karmapa and Karma Kagyu International
Offices were all forcibly locked up.
In
brief, since His Holiness the XVIth Gyalwa
Karmapa passed away, he has been causing
destruction of the dharma. Therefore,
the Assembly of International Kagyu Centres
condemns his actions and removes him from
the position of Treasurer and General
Secretary of the Karma Kagyu institutions.
The
resolution is hereby passed on the 3rd
day of December, 1992.

International Assembly
